Meet the researchers who make up the Alamgir Kabir Lab.
Professor Alamgir Kabir is a Professor in the Department of Physics at the University of Dhaka and leads research in computational materials science and condensed matter physics. He completed his B.Sc. and M.S. in Physics from the University of Dhaka and later earned a second M.S. degree and a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Central Florida, USA. His research focuses on Density Functional Theory (DFT), molecular dynamics simulations, quantum materials, superconductivity, renewable energy materials, and AI-driven materials discovery. Professor Kabir's work explores the structural, electronic, optical, magnetic, and thermal properties of advanced materials for technological and energy-related applications. He actively collaborates with researchers from the USA, India, Turkey, and Bangladesh and has contributed extensively to computational materials research through high-impact publications and international collaborations.
